Ohhh I like it a lot, very well done. I especially love the markings ^^

Since you asked for advanced critique I wrestled some up- while no photmanipulator myself my art teacher once told me that we all recognize what is 'good' art, even if we aren't artists...or something to that effect. SO ANYWAY.

You did the markings really well and I can see some shading of gray on the white to make it more realistic, but they still look too shockingly white and painted in. I would recommend shading them more and having only parts of them so very white, and make the rest more...weathered looking. Also his feet I see you tried to make it so it looked like he was standing in the wet sand (or is it low water?), and I'm not really sure how you could fix it, but he looks like he's dissolving lmao. Possibly rather than have the wet sand over his legs make it more like he's on top of the sand and paint in impressions of his hoof prints. Or if it is shallow water have sprawy coming up from the water hitting his leg.

everything else looks awesome ^^ I love the moon btw.

Thank you very much ^^ The markings were really tricky to make look realistic and when I added more shading it didn’t help at all. I spent a long time looking at real markings but that didn’t even help. I guess I just need practice with it as these are the first real markings I’ve painted in xD

And, thank you for reminding me about the spray! <3 I first thought I would add a shore and keep the hooves, but that prove to difficult for my skill level, lol, so I put him in the water, and completely forgot about spray. I remember thinking to myself; don’t forget the spray, just a little bit, haha, and I did >.< But hey, I’m blonde ;) haha.

Thank you very muchly blue for the advice, it’s all appreciated and I’ll probably have a little mess around later if I get time to see if I can solve the things you mentioned <3

Yea painted on markings, especially white, are very difficult. Not that I've ever done them xD but on all the photomanips I've seen. And for first time :O very good.

No problem glad to help what little I can :B

Oh. My. God. Please tell me how you made the water look like that! It's so dreamlike!

Smudging the edges of the white markings a little more will help them look more realistic. Especially the one on the shoulder. Good job though, at first glance I couldn't tell they were painted!

Thank you for the advice ^^

Yup, first time Blu, haha

adverbial-spectra: all I did was duplicate the layer, blur the top layer and set it to overlay I believe = ]

Yeah thats what I rekon I need to do. Either that or lower the opacity of them to help them look more realistic ^^

Thank you <3

[I just realised the more I look at it, the worse it looks, haha]
