Rottweiler Rant
Journal Entry: Wed Dec 19, 2007, 6:37 AM
Does anyone else who owns Rottweilers feel like all eyes are on you when you take them out?
I can't count on both hands how many dirty looks I recieved today which I assume were due to the fact I was walking my sister's rottie. And this was between 7.30-9.00AM so not even busy
I was so chuffed with Diesel today because he met another dog (He's never been 100% with other dogs) and was really happy, and he was also very well behaved around a child who approached him (He and his mum then continued to pet and kiss diesel, who lapped it all up, and I couldn't stop smiling when they said how lovely and good he was) and he was just generally very good and it disheartens me to walk down town with a rottweiler because I feel liek I'm not supposed to be there
This rottweiler behaves perfectly around children (Apart from wanting to run with them when they run in front of him lol) and I don't think anyone ever believes that he is safe. Of course no dog can ever be trusted with children and he is never left alone with them, but my 2 year old neice can approach him and he changes from being a bouncy, excitable, over he top dog, to a dog that relaxes around more fragile children so that she can stroke him.
I'm sorry for this little rant, It just gets me down when a good day is ruined by people looking you up and down, turning their faces from you and looking like you just generally shouldn't have that dog walking anywhere near them
I'm sorry about that rant I just get so annoyed....
And this is the little culprit for anyone who's interested:
